After making a genealogy chart using Martha Stewart's pattern, I decided I wanted it to look more like a tree. So, I made a pattern of my own. The trunk is the baby's name, followed by the parents on the first branches, and so on. I did the paternal side on the left and the maternal side on the right. Trace the pattern to the desired size in pencil. Then write in the names of each relative on their respective branch--I would do this is pencil first just to make sure everything fits how it should.
